Custom 1999 Honda Civic Si (EM1) "Insomnia" - Collab with Verone Digital

It all started as a fun idea. I wanted to team up with some 3D artists, and ended up talking with Verone about teaming up on a car. Me having the knowledge from how Spocom (Sport Compact) show cars were like back then, having some experience with creating some on S-Tuner in the past, I wanted to reach for the stars by going into 3D... well, I'm not quite there yet. Everything 3D has been done by Verone (besides the wheels, those are from @remcojza80 on IG, and the Alpine AMPs and Subwoofers which FilipJDM made for us) while I took over the direction we are going with the car, almost every single texture, the livery, the full frame photo edits, color correction and the magazine article.

Time Spent: Roughly 40 days

My personal goal: Gaining some experience in 3D work in greater detail by working with a 3D modeller.

For more information about the car, feel free to read the magazine article!

One or another might feel like they see a game cover photo from the mid 2000s. You know the one I'm talking about!

This shot and the next one were inspired by the photos that were taken for Metropolis Street Racer's cover. The location is somewhere in NYC.

In the lore, we drove the car to New York for a photoshoot.

Here's a metalheart styled wallpaper that I made almost an entire year later using a free asset pack from IntegraTunes.

First spread. There was a magazine cover planned, but I started getting unfocused and lazy, so that got scrapped and shall never see the light of day.

Single page. The reason behind that is that magazines usually got a opening spread, and after that either another spread or two, or it's divided with one page having the article and the other an advert for car parts or other products...

...in case you were wondering why these two pages weren't a spread like the first and the last page.

Now finally onto the studio shots. Inspired by Import Tuner Magazine, the studio ended up being our main location. Here you can also see the entire spec list of our car.

A pair of NSX door handles were retrofitted to make the car just that little bit more unique.

But the NSX part harvesting hasn't stopped there. We also borrowed the front calipers for the rear brakes while the front brakes got aftermarket calipers.

Compared to the Tiara Civic, the taillights on ours sit higher, and look more natural.

We haven't forgotten a fuel door. Instead we spent too much effort on details like this!

Time to move inside the car. Here is where most of my time went in as I made all the gauge faces, the start button, air fuel controller, pedal textures and shift knob textures.
